Ape in

To buy a position quickly and without research, usually a large one, on enthusiasm or a tip.

Aping in means entering first and thinking later. The word is self-aware: it started as a joke about acting on instinct, and communities use it approvingly for boldness and dismissively for recklessness depending on the outcome.

As behaviour it combines three things worth naming separately: no thesis, no defined risk, and size decided by excitement. Any one is survivable and the combination is how accounts end. If you use the phrase about your own trade, it is worth asking which of the three is missing and whether you would accept that in writing.
