The Asia-Pacific trading hours, roughly 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. Eastern; usually the quietest session for major pairs.
The four forex trading sessions. Currencies trade around the clock because the big financial centres open one after another. London and New York are both open between 12:00 and 16:00 UTC, which is the busiest stretch of the day.
Tokyo, Sydney, and later Hong Kong and Singapore are active. Yen and Australian dollar pairs see the most movement; EUR/USD and GBP/USD often drift in a tight range that becomes the reference for the london-session breakout.
Bank of Japan and Reserve Bank of Australia announcements land here.
Example: EUR/USD trades a 25-pip range from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Eastern. A break of that range after the London open is a common setup with a defined stop on the other side.
