Strong hands

Holders who can sit through volatility without selling, usually because of size, time horizon, and a thesis they can restate.

Strong hands is used as praise and often confuses two different things. Holding through a drawdown because the thesis is intact and the position is small enough to carry is discipline. Holding because you cannot bear to realise the loss is bag-holding-psychology wearing the same description.

The distinguishing question is whether you can state what would make you sell. A holder with a written invalidation who has not reached it is strong-handed. A holder with no exit condition is not holding, they are stuck. See diamond-hands.
